According to a Nobel Prize-winning study in economics, 92% of investment returns are determined by strategic asset allocation, not by which mutual fund you invest in. Without this understanding, many people will buy an investment magazine, turn to its top 10 list and purchase a mutual fund based on last year’s performance.

Many investment decisions are based on emotion, and are affected by your personal attachment to your money. No one is more attached to your money than you are. Because of that, it is very easy for that personal attachment to cause you to make an investment mistake. This is not because of a lack of knowledge or interest on your part. The problem is your personal attachment to your money. Too much is at stake for you to risk do-it-yourself investing; that is why you should use a professional.

At Family Estate Planning, Mr. Abels has built a wealth management system on a disciplined approach to investing. This keeps the focus on our clients’ goals by matching their risk tolerance with a properly diversified portfolio. Our Wealth Management System is successful in matching our clients’ particular risk tolerance to the portfolio that best fits their goals. We use several methods to determine each client’s risk tolerance.

To insure a proper match with each client’s goals, we have developed three different portfolios; Conservative, Moderate, and Aggressive. We also have special Enhanced portfolios designed for doctors and other professional clients.

Our first priority is the client’s comfort with his or her portfolio. We keep the client’s goals in focus by managing and reallocating the portfolio at regular intervals, and we provide reports and reviews to the client.
